Avid is a key member of a multi-disciplinary team performing CPS’ Biennial Assessment. The purpose of the program is to update the existing Facility Cost Tracking System (FACTS) and to accurately identify the capital improvement needs of all 600+ school buildings for sound fiscal planning.  Having worn many hats for CPS during our decade long relationship, Avid brings an unparalleled institutional knowledge of CPS’ facilities and approach to project development and renovation.

Avid provided Architects and Engineers to develop an assessment for the existing infrastructure at the Navy facilities to develop a comprehensive Capital Improvement plan.

McCormick Place and Navy Pier

SCOPE: MPEA is nation’s largest trade show, entertainment and convention space which owns McCormick Place (4.5 Mil square feet), Arie Crown Theater (5000 seating), Energy Center, Hyatt Hotel, Marquis Marriott Hotel and the 10,000 seat Wintrust Arena and Navy Pier facility (50 acres of parks, gardens, shops, restaurants, family attractions and exhibition facilities and is the top leisure destination in the Midwest). MPEA draws nearly nine million visitors annually.

In my role as Director of Construction we performed facility assessment of the entire facility including Architectural, MEPFP, vertical transportation, Civil, Structural, Site disciplines. Based on the condition assessment, a list of deferred maintenance projects, ROI projects, revenue generation projects were developed. Financial models were created based on life cycle analysis to develop a comprehensive $650 Mil – 30 year Capital plan. An annual plan and a five year plans were also created. $80Mil funds were appropriated by State legislation for Capital project implementation.
